Did Dumbledore make a Horcrux…?

***Please note: This post is inspired by SuperCarlinBrothers’ video on YouTube. I will post the link to the video at the end of this post, you should definitely their channel out!***

Hey Fellow geeks!

Today I’m doing a HP – related theory! Did our favourite bearded professor make a Horcrux?
If any of you didn’t know, a Horcrux is an object that you put a piece of your soul into by committing murder. So one burning question comes to the surface – for Dumbledore to have made a Horcrux, he’d need to have killed someone, and he didn’t…right?
Wrong.
In the Deathly Hallows we learn a lot about Albus’s disturbing childhood, his sister Ariana, and his legendary duel with Gellert Grindelwald that resulted in the death of his younger sister.
He tells Harry when they meet in the imaginary version of King’s Cross that he ‘never knew which of the us [Albus, Grindelwald and Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth] cast the curse that killed Ariana; I dreaded beyond all things the knowledge that it had been I who killed her.’
Therefore, there is a probability that Dumbledore did kill somebody.
But there is another problem. Even if he had the ability to make a Horcrux, Dumbledore didn’t like, or use, Dark Magic.
However, he knows that he may have killed Ariana, so he must have been using Dark Magic.

That’s all I’m going to be explaining today. If you want to know more, here is the link for the video: Dumbledore’s Horcrux Video

Art and Posting Problems

Hey guys!
I’ve realised that I’m just too busy to post daily; I really try to find time but I have too much to do!
From now on I’m going to only post when I have something to post, which should be at least once a week. For now I’m going to show you some art that I’ve done recently! Enjoy!

Problems of Being a Hufflepuff

Hey fellow geeks!

Although I am a proud Hufflepuff with large amounts of Hufflepuff merchandise (mostly homemade; buying the merchandise is ridiculously expensive!) I don’t deny that there are a few problems that come with being part of this house. Ever since Draco Malfoy said to Harry Potter in the first book, “imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I’d leave, wouldn’t you?” The majority of the HP fandom seemed to assume that J.K. Rowling wanted us to believe that Hufflepuff was a bad house. Even Slytherin is getting less hate than Hufflepuff!

OK, I’ve done my moaning 😂 I’m going to put together a list of daily problems us Hufflepuffs have to deal with. I’m making it sound like it’s a trauma every day, when it’s just slightly irritating 😅

  • “Hufflepuff? Isn’t that the stupid house?”
  • “Hufflepuff is so boring. Gryffindor is the best. I mean, Harry was a Gryffindor, so it has to be, right?”
  • “Who wants to be a Hufflepuff?”
  • You find a really cool bit of HP merch, but guess what? They don’t have it in Hufflepuff colours.

So those are a few Hufflepuff problems that I have experienced! Comment if you have had any with your house!

DIY House Tie!

Hey fellow geeks!

Today I’m going to be doing my first DIY! These house ties are simple, cute and versatile; they can be necklaces, bracelets, or just charms! Unfortunately, I can’t upload pictures at the moment but hopefully you can get an idea of what they would look like!

What you will need:

  • Clay
  • A knife (preferably X-acto)
  • An oven
  • Paint in your house colours (I used acrylics, but you can use whatever you want!)
  • (Optional) Clear seal
  • (Optional) a chain and eye pin if you are making it into a necklace.

Note: this is inspired by Demi Siriusly’s video on YouTube. The link will be at the end of this blog so you should definitely check out that video and her channel!

Steps:

  1. Draw some tie templates on a piece of paper and cut out the best one.
  2. Using this template, cut out a clay tie shape.
  3. Bake according to the instructions on your clay.
  4. Paint in your house colours!
  5. If you like, you can use Clear Seal to secure the paint and make it look shiny, but this is not necessary.
  6. You’re done!

Welcome, fellow geeks!

Welcome to the first EVER post of A Goblet of Geekiness, a blog for Potterheads only! Here I ramble about my love of Harry Potter, the problems of being a Hufflepuff, and anything else I want to share with the world! I invite you to comment about your experience as a Potterhead, and I will try and reply! I want to unite Potterheads, so we can all talk about this incredible series 😊 I don’t have any friends who are Harry Potter fans (something which I will NEVER understand) so let’s join so I will have some!
